-maxxing: From looksmaxxing — obsessive self-optimisation on physical attractiveness, originating in incel/PUA forums in the mid-2010s and spreading through TikTok mewing/looksmax culture into general internet slang. The double-x spelling (looksmaxx, statusmaxx, moneymaxx) is the distinctive orthographic marker of the family; the single-x form (maxing) is older and less register-specific. Ultimately a clipping of maximise.

Recorded here as the standalone combining form rather than only inside compounds like benchmaxxing — the suffix is productive enough in-fleet to be a lemma in its own right. Carries no polarity by itself: the stem decides whether the maxxing is aspirational (tokenmaxxing, curiositymaxxing) or a self-own (depressionmaxxing). The imperative "lock in and start X-maxxing" is the characteristic usage.

Usage
