Cont

From The Hei Canon

Cont is the teaching, evaluation and research-loop repository paired with Trainfer.

Project status: Current client/research repository extracted from the earlier agi project. This entry describes the source audit of 14 September 2026; historical measurements retain their original dates.

Mechanism

Agents record hypotheses in a backlog, claim an experiment, run it against the local daemon, record dated evidence in a journal, and submit findings for review. Autoresearch narrows this to a config-edit/run/score/keep-or-discard loop on a defined suite.

Implementation and controls

The cont/teach package contains entity teaching, RLVR scheduling, teacher adapters, fixtures and probes. autoresearch contains recipe runners and config. docs/research stores the journal, campaigns, proofs, surveys and implementation proposals; data stores artifacts. Daemon modifications belong in Trainfer.

Evidence and evaluation

The journal retains early gains and later falsification, including the GSM8K ICL comparison and snapshot drift caveat. Some historical runner code exists only in agi Git history even though its JSON artifacts were carried into cont, as V-KTO demonstrates.

Limitations and interpretation

Not every backlog item has run, and not every configurable menu option is implemented. The repo contract's one-GPU discipline and snapshot brackets apply to new experiments; writing these wiki entries did not run training or alter daemon state.
